报告人简介： Dr Lingfen Sun has been anassociate professor in Multimedia Communications and Networks at the University of Plymouth, UK since 2010. She received her PhD in Computing and Communications from the University of Plymouth in 2004. She has been involved in several European and industry funded projects, including H2020 QoE-Net (as PI, 2015 - 18), FP7 GERYON (as Scientific Manager and PI, 2011 - 14), COST Action QUALINET (as MC member, 2010 – 14), FP7 ADAMANTIUM (as Co-PI, 2008 – 10), FP6 BIOPATTERN (as subproject leader on BIOPATTERN Grid, 2004 – 08) and led an industry funded project on multimedia quality over 3G networks (2006 – 07). She has published one book on VoIP and over 90 scientific papers since 2000. She was the founding Chair of QoE Interest Group (QoEIG) of IEEE MMTC (2010 – 12), Symposium Co-Chair of CSSMA for IEEE ICC 2014, MMTC Award Board Member (2012 – 14),and has been Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Multimedia since 2016. She has served as an expert reviewer for grants for EU H2020, UK EPSRC and Canada NSERC. Her main research interests include multimedia quality assessment, multimedia networks, mobile networks, QoS/QoE, SDN/NFV, multimedia applications for IoT, eHealthcare and emergency communications.
报告摘要： Dr. Sun will cover her research on QoE modelling, control and management for multimedia applications (e.g. VoIP and video streaming). She will start from the background and concept of QoS/QoE, QoE modelling, to QoE control and management. Then she will talk about her experiences in the previous EU FP7 ADAMANTIUMand the current H2020 MSCA ITN QoE-Net projectsrelated with QoE. She will also cover some of her PhD students work on QoE-driven applications, e.g. for resource allocation in mobile networks, and for route selection in SDN networks. At the end, Dr Sun will share her thoughts on the challenges and future directions in QoE related research, e.g. holistic QoE management for multimedia applications over future Internet, Quality of Things (QoT) for multimedia applications for IoT.
