王中元,教授,武汉大学地球空间信息技术协同创新中心研究员,博士生导师,美国Texas A&M大学博士后。在卫星、无人机和监控视频编码处理方面,主持和参与科研项目20余项,包括视频卫星超分辨率增强的国家自然科学基金项目、舰船目标检测的国防预研项目、环境目标检测和识别的国家重点研发计划项目,其中主持3项国家自然科学基金,目前正主持国家自然科学基金项目“面向视频卫星的多分辨率字典学习压缩视频超分辨率重建(61671332)”,担任新一代无线移动通信网国家重大科技专项项目的副组长。参加东莞平安城市、深圳电子公交监控、城市时空云平台等重大工程项目的规划和实施,参与起草公安部标准3项。在图像处理领域的IEEE会刊和顶级国际会议上发表论文90余篇,授权国家发明专利20余项,部分技术进入我国AVS国家标准。获得教育部、公安部、湖北省、广东省等科技奖励7项,其中2016年湖北省自然科学二等奖(排名第二)、2011年广东省科技进步二等奖(排名第四)、2010年公安部科技三等奖(排名第二)。
